Side Notes

Here are some side notes from the Ken Bova workshop:  (Sometimes this is the best learning that happens at a workshop)

Torch
The torch has o-rings check and if they are cracked or broken replace them.  Take off the torch tip and you will see the o rings.

The torch tip should occasionally be cleaned with a pipe cleaner.  Remove torch tip and using a small allen wrench loose and draw out filter.  Run the pipe cleaner through the tip a few times, wipe and replace.

The stem to the valve that permits oxygen and gas to flow through the tip can become loose and if it does a flame can burn beneath the torch tip which can result in an explosion.

Pliers
A box joint is a better construction than a lap joint plier.
Do not buy pliers with the springs in the handle; using this kind of plier can lead to muscle strain.
Pliers without the springs will hold small pieces with very little tension.
