I am taking a class with Kathryn Osgood at COA. Great class, learning a lot but I am a bit frustrated not to have a kiln at home to keep work moving when not in class. I am experimenting with torch firing and found this posting on Ganoksin which I found helpful.

I have also added the url to our great metal working sites page.
I have created some domes that have taken on the look of stone. I think they are really cool.

I have purchased an Olympic Front loading kiln with a guillotine lift from Warm Glass in Clemmons, NC. It is supposed to be finished being built by today and then shipped by freight.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited! It is all Kathryn's fault for turning me on to enameling.
I have had my kiln for a week and fired it twice. I really like it, especially after reprograming it to hold 1500 for 1 hour instead of 1 minute :-}
