October 13th, the guild met in the COA (College of the Albemarle, Manteo, NC) jewelry studio.
Members present discussed their current work.
Joanne Lang shared her enameled brooches she made while attending a course taught by Linda Darty, in Italy. They are fantastic and I hope to share some images of them here in the near future.
A series of new brooches by Kathryn Osgood were included in the COA faculty exhibit. Kathryn had a productive summer and it was wonderful to see her work on display in the COA gallery.
A few members discussed challenging pieces and the group talked through some possible solutions.
Joanne Lang demonstrated making a small box from an aluminum can.
And, Roberta Miller was visiting from Utah! |
Donna Strawhand informed us of some local venues in which she was participating, but was mostly focused on the construction of her new studio. I saw Donna a couple of weeks later, at her booth at the "Dismal Days" festival at the Dismal Swamp State Park in Camden County. Here are some photos of Donna and her booth.
The next guild meeting will be held on January 5th (10am-4pm), again at the COA jewelry studio, in Manteo, NC.
Please chime in if there is anything I left out about the October meeting! Again, sorry so late.
ReplyDeleteHope to see you all on January 5th.
Great to see the pictures, so sorry to have missed Roberta, Joanne's demo (I think I will try following the images and seeing Kathryn's work.
ReplyDeleteThank you Hilary for your great report.
