Kathryn Osgood Holds Bead Making Workshop

Making Metal Beads – June 25 and 26 (Saturday and Sunday) 9 am to 4 pm.








Join us at the COA jewelry studio in Manteo for this two day metal bead making workshop. During the class, students will create beads working with sterling, copper, and brass to use as a focal point for a unique necklace. We will explore techniques including roll printing, stamping, soldering, riveting, stone setting and piercing to create one-of-a-kind beads. All skill levels are welcome – some soldering experience is helpful. Tuition is $100. All required tools will be provided. There will be a $10 lab fee payable to the instructor. Copper and brass sheet will be provided. Instructor will have silver sheet available for purchase

Instructor for the workshop is Kathryn Osgood, studio artist and assistant professor at College of The Albemarle . She is a jeweler, metalsmith and enamellist whose work is exhibited nationally. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree from East Carolina University and her work is published in The Art of Enameling, 1000 Rings, 500 Earrings, 500 Necklaces, The Art of Jewelry: Wood, and Contemporary Enameling: Art and Techniques.
