What a great meeting for the Pocosin Arts Metals Guild! Eleven wonderful enthusiasts in attendance! Thanks to all who attended! Dianne, thanks for your leadership and note taking. Bruce, thanks for your demos. Ron, thanks for all your work and input on photo taking. I look forward to seeing some photos circulating online.
It is so inspiring to meet regularly like this. The meetings help to keep my hammer hammering, moving metal and making things.
I'm thinking about this Pot Rack* project. How about if, before we meet again, we individually play with some ideas, begin constructing pot racks (whoever feels like doing this). And we can also be discussing via blog, some ideas for a "committee" creation, which we could begin working on together at the next meeting? Just a thought. What do you all think?
* For those not at the meeting: Pocosin Arts is having a summer 2010 exhibit, called, Pots, Pot Racks, and Potholders. Pots, being pottery (though I suppose those could be metal too), Potholders being fiber/textiles, Pot Racks being metal. We can do an "Images" search on Google for some ideas. We could make something functional. Or like Roberta pointed out, we could make something that was a weird interpretation of a pot rack.

I have been talking and talking my poor husband's ear off about what a great meeting we had on Saturday. Everyone present made this good.
ReplyDeleteI think that getting sketches going is a great idea.
